Our Approach to Healing at Tanglewood Collective
Introduction
Tanglewood Collective is not your ordinary mental health care clinic. We value accessibility, so we take most major insurance panels, but we don’t often rely on traditional methods to medication management and therapy. Instead, we take an approach that is deeply holistic, collaborative, and integrative. This is done through our multidisciplinary team, whose experience ranges from traditional outpatient therapy settings to psychedelic-assisted therapy and intentional prescribing.

Our History
Tanglewood Collective was started by Shannon Darling, PMHNP, in 2025. Shannon had a vision for many years to have a holistic healing center, so she expanded her private practice, Wild Heart Integrative Health Services, into what is now Tanglewood Collective.
To meet the diverse needs of clients, Shannon brought on a partner, Gail White, LPC, LAC, NMIT, who is a licensed therapist and psychedelic-therapy provider with over 30-years of experience. Their combined vision helped steward forward the creation of a center that could service client needs both through therapy services and integrative medication management methods.
However, both of their experience in these realms goes deeper than your traditional talk therapy and prescribing. Shannon completed her training in Integrative Psychiatry through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute. This training gave her the tools to approach medication management through a deeper, holistic lens, understanding the role of supplements and lifestyle choices in mental health care and overall well-being. Shannon later completed her training in Ketamine and Psychedelic Medicine from the Psychedelic Research and Training Institute (PRATI). Her broad experience treating clients through ketamine-assisted psychotherapy led her to later become a trainer for PRATI.
Gail White also boasts full Psychedelic Facilitator training from the Integrative Psychiatry Institute, and is now credentialed through the state of Colorado to provide psychedelic-assisted therapy. Gail’s experience with trauma therapies and integrative methods made her the perfect person to help expand the reach of Tanglewood into a center that could serve the needs of clients through holistic therapeutic methods as well.
With these experiences under their belts, Dr. Autumn Martin, DNP, FNP-BC, was brought onto the team to further expand the reach of Tanglewood, helping increase the scope of clients that the practice is able to take through ketamine evaluations and prescribing and some medication management services.

Our Philosophy
We believe that care shouldn’t be an in-an-out service. The way that our providers approach care involves highly personalized treatment, with our provider team meeting weekly to discuss cases across disciplines.
Traditional psychiatry treats mental health care like a 15-minute visit and an anti-depressant. Usually, that’s driven by an algorithm. You have these symptoms → you must have this problem → here is the pill to fix it. This is not Tanglewood’s approach. At Tanglewood, we take the time to fully understand you through a deep review of the information you provide to us, a one-hour long intake session, and thirty minute follow-up session. In these visits, we won’t just ask about symptoms and send you home with an anti-depressant or anti-anxiety medication. Instead, we’ll consider the root cause of your struggles, and look at different methods that can help support you more holistically, such as examining your sleep patterns, relational difficulties, and exercise routines.
We combine these services with therapy when needed, so that you’re able to explore your struggles on a deeper level, and our providers will collaborate with each other outside of session to discuss your case when needed.
We care deeply about accessibility, so we have made the choice to take multiple insurance panels, which is an aspect of care that is often overlooked in these kinds of integrative models, because of the extra difficulty it requires. However, your care is important to us, so we do what we can to make sure that we can make these available.
Our Vision
We strive to create a healing compound where all of your needs can be met under one roof. We envision a “one-stop-shop” for your mental and physical care. The kind of place where you can do your yoga class after your psychiatry visit. The kind of place where you can stop by an herbal apothecary and a pharmacy. Where you can weight lift with your therapist, and where you can get a healthy meal and hang out in community.
What Tanglewood could look like
We want to help people get their needs met while breaking free from the matrix of society which keeps us sick. We see people as people, not numbers or dollar signs.
